Pleione Orchids after winter dormancy in the refrigerator
Let’s take a look at the Pleione orchids that spent their winter in the refrigerator. They are alive and starting to grow new shoots!
So in about October I just cleaned up the bulbs from the dried leaves and sheaths, placed them in a plastic bag with a secure knot and shoved them in a safe place in my refrigerator. (not freezer!) These ones do want a very cold dormancy during winter.
Few months later everyone seems ok and started to grow. I will push the dormancy a little longer and come springtime we should have some growing Pleiones 🙂
