Vanda Orchids in (NOT) semi hydroponics

Today we talk a bit about Vanda orchids, since I need to yet again change their pots.. or baskets.

So the elegant baskets were not as durable as I thought. Not even close, so now the baskets are disintegrating. So I had a few choices:

1. Buy wooden baskets and invent 200 Euros for them.

2. DIY wooden baskets and invent a bit more than that (yes, I live in an expensive country), while using questionable wood.

3. Do something with what pots I had in my grow room. So option number 3 it was!

Here is a semi hydro look alike system, that uses decorative plastic pots with an overflow / drainage.
