How to save a Phalaenopsis orchid with no (or with few) roots plus cutting the stem

I have received this Phalaenopsis orchid from a neighbor to save. As you can see there is only one aerial root, the orchid is dehydrated, has limp, leathery leaves and looks like it will die. But I think hope is not all lost 🙂 Here is my method of saving sick Phalaenopsis orchids with no roots, or with very few roots.
