Habenaria medusa orchid update – corm propagation
This is Habenaria medusa, an orchid species that I have been growing for about one year. It should right about time to start producing a bloom spike, but I don’t see that happening yet.
However the orchid seems to be doing quite well, the leaves have developed nicely, it is much bigger than how it used to be when I purchased it and also it is propagating itself.
Through the pot I can see another corm, or tuber, forming. The problem is that this pot seems slightly small now for it. The tuber is coming out from the bottom of the pot and I hope it will not get damaged. Next year I will definitely use a bigger, or at least a deeper pot for this one.
