Requested Orchid updates – Dendrobium, Renanthera, Paphiopedilum & others
So here are some requested updates that some of you guys left in my comments. So today we will look at some orchids we didn’t see for a while!

So first the climber Paphiopedilum, he is still around :p the top part that we separated quite a lot of time ago has grown a lot, but still no blooms. These orchids grow very slow, so we will need to wait quite a bit for them. If you missed that video here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkR9J84lA8w
The Bulbophyllums are both still around and the Elizabeth Ann Buckleberry is actually doing great, growing a new pseudobulb. The barbigerum on the other hand did not appreciate the stress, so he is recovering in the humidity room.
Next the Dendrobium Nobile types, well they are confused about the weather 🙂 They already finished growing their new canes, but there is no autumn or winter. So what do we do? grow another set of new growths. When will we bloom? we’ll decide that later.
The Renantheras are both distressed. The monachica is recovering from some sort of fungal disease and the phillipinensis is struggling with mites. I think she is tasty, totally overlooked her infestation 🙁 she dropped a few leaves and I panicked because of Fusarium, but it’s not 😛 anyway a good watch is Bumblebee’s video on the matter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpG3Hl9AvJY
The Pleiones will sadly disappear from my videos for a while, they didn’t cope with the move, the lack of medium and heat. I might try the maculata sometimes in the future as she should be more tolerant and the cause of her demise was the move and lack of potting medium.
And lastly the Angraecum sesquipedale, notorious for not liking repotting and changes. He is oblivious to whatever is going on around him and keeps growing normally 😛
