Why use transparent pots for Orchids, if we put them in decorative pots?

The most used Orchid pots are by far the transparent pots! This is mainly for our benefit, as it’s easier to tell if Orchids need water, or if roots are growing well. Even if roots have the ability to photosynthesise, it is not their primary function and they are not great at it. So we can definitely use opaque pots, or decorative pots that shade all the light. There is no different in Orchid health and performance!
