Encyclia cordigera – The cocoa orchid!
Encyclia cordigera is an orchid species found in Central and South America. It is well known for its spidery flower shape, but also it’s chocolate – cocoa – rose fragrance. There is a bit of variety in colors, so each individual may vary. The plant itself is really handsome as well, plump pseudobulbs can look like onions and have a nice, delicious green color. These orchids take pretty much Cattleya care and I think they are one of the easiest orchid species to keep. Enjoy!
