Orchid Projects Updates – Specimen Cattleya, Neofinetia, Tolumnia & more!
Today we look back on a few Orchid projects we started this year and see how things worked out!
🦋 More info below! 🦋
1. The Cattleya specimen project ended up being a success! The orchid is now in full bloom and looking great! https://youtu.be/6PMp6VEUNc4
Here is what you should know about community pots https://youtu.be/eJrd9FASLrQ
2. The revival of Seramis with my rupicolous Laelias is not going great. I will switch eventually, I just don’t like how dry Seramis acts.
3. My Neofinetias are growing very nice! I decided to keep them potted rather than on a kokedama and did the switch recently, as they needed to be repotted as part of maintenance https://youtu.be/v_8S2y6OTKA I am trying to chill them a bit and see if it helps induce a flower spike.
4. The Tolumnia collection is getting bigger and they are all doing great, as long as I make sure to provide the parameters they like. It’s been hard to remake my collection after losing them all last year, they are just not as common as I’d like 🙁
5. The biggest change this year is definitely the return to bark and moss, which happened towards the beginning of this year. The quest is still on for an inorganic alternative, but until then my back needs relief..
