About Cattleya Intergeneric Orchids – What are they, why does it matter?

Today we talk about Cattleya orchids and their intergenerics, some of my favorite orchids in the world!

First of all, a Cattleya orchid is produced by 2 parent orchids. If the parent orchids are the same, the offspring will be the same as the parents. If they are different varieties of the same genera, the offspring is a hybrid. If the parents are different, compatible, genera, the offspring is an intergeneric hybrid.
