Death of the Psychopsis Orchid flower spike
All good things must come to an end and so is the flower spike of my Psychopsis orchid, which was active for a year and a half or even more. But maybe hope is not lost!
▼▼▼More info bellow!▼▼▼
Psychopsis orchids are sequential bloomers, meaning a flower spike will keep blooming many times from the same place. However even these orchids lose their spikes eventually.
The spike is drying up from the top at the moment, there will be no more flowers from the tip. However there is some hope! a node lower I can see something developing, this might very well be a secondary spike!
Psychopsis orchids are full of surprises in this domain, a flower spike can branch out if the tip is dead or damaged and it can also create keikis! So now I wonder what this node will turn out to be 🙂
