Today we take a look at a flowering premiere in my orchid collection, the lovely Dendrobium amethystoglossum!

This is a species orchid native to the Philippines, more info can be found here https://www.orchidspecies.com/denamethystoglossum.htm
The Dendrobium amethystoglossum is a long caned Orchid which produces pendant clusters of small flowers, with a light pink color on the petals and sepals and a vivid magenta on the lip, overall giving a wonderful display when in bloom.
To my delight it does not appear to be fussy orchid, or one reluctant to bloom, I purchased it a few months ago and it did suffer damage in transport.
The flowers, as pretty as they are, are also short lived and non fragrant, or at best have a very mild fragrance.
