Dendrobium Berry Oda Orchid – winter rest or not?
Dendrobium berry Oda is that type of orchid that is starting to get very common in stores and this is not a bad thing. It is easy to care for and easy to bloom. Problem is, it is many times called a kingianum which is pretty false 🙂
I did an experiment this year, I didn’t bother to provide any type of winter rest for this orchid and it managed to bloom. The only trigger was a drop in temperature, very similar to the drop Phalaenopsis require.
I kept watering it so the dry rest was not given, this didn’t seem to affect the orchid in any way, I do have a decent blooming, so Berry Odas don’t really need winter rests 🙂 kingianums.. do.
