Dendrobium nobile orchid blooming from cut canes

So a while back I was saying that Dendrobium nobile buds that start to forum will continue to be buds, not transform into keikis. So here is an example of an odd flowering sent in by one of my viewers.

So this Dendrobium had its canes cut during dormancy. Even if the nubbins were not visible yet, in a little while it started to grow them on the cut canes, even if they were kept in the warmth.

So even if the dormancy was disturbed, the buds did not transform themselves into keikis, they continued to be buds. If this is just an isolated case I don’t know, but still I found it interesting 🙂
