Today we gibe a helping hand to my Vanda orchid, which is growing a long.. too long! flower spike 😛

Most people grow Vanda orchids hanging in baskets, or in empty pots, or in the commercial oversize vase. But without a medium, how can we even try and shape flower spikes?
The answer is quite simple, we need to find a tall enough stake to cover as the entirety of its axis and then even more on top of the plant. Securing the stake is done with the help of the axis, rather than pot or basket.
Afterwards the spike can easily be pinned to the secure stake if need be. In my case, the spike is touching the glass window and this can seriously cause tissue burning from the hot glass!
