Mounting Bulbophyllum Orchid on full inorganic mount
Yes I gave in the pressure and decided to follow some of my viewers comments and mount an orchid :0 this is a Bulbophyllum type orchid which is suffering from some hydration issues. It is the best opportunity to test out a full inorganic mount in my humidity room.

The slab I am using is a ceramic slab that can be found for sale at Schwerter here http://bit.ly/1jaTIUZ This slab has the benefit of never breaking down and also retaining more water than a conventional cork slab. It also stays cooler, due to the material it is made of.
Instead of moss I am using Synthic, a material that holds water just like moss, but doesn’t have the same properties. However it never breaks down. Learn more about Synthic here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCcs73-PPtY
This orchid mount will stay in my cool mini greenhouse and hopefully will not need watering every day. Let’s see how this experiment will do over the next months.
