My Cattleya Orchid seedlings – the tiny kittens :)
Today I thought I’d show you some more of my orchid seedlings and let’s just see how the kittens are doing 🙂 b

In order of appearance, the orchids are:
1. Cattleya warscewiczii, a beautiful, big flowered species
2. Cattleya Hardyana semi alba (semi white, alba is Latin for female white), a cross between C. Cattleya warscewiczii and dowiana rosita
3. Cattleya dowiana var. rosita, one of the most popular and expensive Catts you can have
4. Cattleya lueddemanniana ‘Cerro Verde’, a wonderful spin of the famous original (that sounded like a movie review lol)
5. Cattleya Hardyana, same parentage but it should look different
6. Cattleya Teriumphans, a cross between Cattleya rex and dowiana rosita
Orchid seedlings generally require more attention and resources than mature orchids. They can take several years until they reach blooming size, but the journey is worth it if you have other orchids to enjoy until then 🙂
