Phalaenopsis orchids are growing plants and they will not always be in bloom. They can lose leaves and grow many roots, all is normal and is part of their normal life cycle. Here is what is not normal:
1. Roots turn brown and mushy, the orchid needs an urgent repot! See how to do this here https://youtu.be/cWFyQzJbGDg
2. Dark patches on roots – The water might be too hard, or you are fertilizing too much!
3. More than 2-3 leaves yellowing and falling – Could be a stem issue, better to prevent than treat! Here is more on the subject https://youtu.be/64FPqaKmueI Orchids in nature avoid problems, learn more here https://youtu.be/b2Tz40w9Rbk
4. Wrinkly leaves – It’s a sign of too little water, make sure you water the orchid and that the roots are ok!
5. Sun spots – Make sure the orchid doe4sn;t sit in the sun!
6. Pests – all plants can get them! Here is my way of dealing with them https://youtu.be/-XKBzEGy_sc
7. Spots that advance – They should be removed!
8. Crown issues – needs attention right away! Here is my method https://youtu.be/iCZXr2HgRBM
9. Bud blast – Make sure temperatures are always adequate! Here is more on the subject https://youtu.be/QJ52c7IUn1g
10. The orchid doesn’t bloom – Phalaenopsis requre a small drop in temperature to bloom! Here is more https://youtu.be/JjmLqotjj40
