Orchid Identification – Howeara Chian-Tzy Lovely
We have a new species to collection, it’s a Howeara! I was very excited to find it since it’s hard to find something else rather than Phalaenopsis. Howearas is just what I was looking for!

Recently this cross was reclassified to Peaseara, but Howeara is a much more popular name for it and is accepted as a synonym. The parents of the Chian-Tzy Lovely are Howeara (Leomesezia) Mini Primi and Oncidium cheirophorum.
It is a mini orchid that produces very tiny flowers on a pretty long flower spike, so all is not that small when this orchid is in bloom. It lacks any fragrance however.
It is closely related to Oncidiums so care for it should be very similar. If you are doing well with Oncidiums, there’s no reason to do bad with this one.
