Phalaenopsis Karen Annie is the primary hybrid between Phal. hierogliphica and mariae and, as expected, takes the best from both parents.

This primary hybrid is a summer bloomer, however it does produce a multitude of flowers and branches, so you won’t miss that trait which belongs to the complex hybrids. The flowers are buttery green and have a wonderful brown pattern and a purple fuzzy lip.
The orchid has quite big glossy leaves and will not save you any space, as the spikes get large as well. however it is a sequential bloomer, so the spikes can rebloom for quite a lot of time.
This orchid is also fragrant, it smells fruity and pretty mouth watering, but the scent is quite mild, so no throwing you out of the room.
I think it is a great transition to species, the summer blooming ones, as it offers the great bloom display and the waxy texture and lovely fragrance of the species.
