Orchid Identification – Phalaenopsis Sun Passat
Another orchid that caught my eyes these days is the Phalaenopsis Sun Passat. I must admit it caught my nose more, because this complex hybrid is actually a fragrant one!

The Phalaenopsis Sun Passat seems to not be a registered hybrid, so I am not sure about the parentage of this orchid. If you know anything do let me know 🙂
The colors though are pretty vivid on this orchid, even if not very flashy. The contrast between the pale yellow and orangeish lip is quite strong, it will surely light up a gloomy day.
The fragrance seems to me like a sweet fruit perfume with some added spices that I cannot really determine. It is nice and the strangest thing about it is that, even though it seems mild and fine, it does fill up a small room. Maybe this can be a great orchid for people with sensitivity to strong fragrances.
Foliage wise there is nothing particularly out of the common, just a typical complex hybrid shape and color, added some pretty long leaves. This is not a space saver.
If you enjoy Phalaenopsis though I think you will enjoy this one. The fragrance is quite the bonus!
