Orchid updates – Phalaenopsis keiki, Sedirea, Zygopetalum & others

So here are some updates on Orchids that we worked on, or are sick or simply we didn’t see in a long time. It’s not all bad so that’s always good news 😛

First the Odontoglossum naevium with a big infection on its pseudobulb is still growing normally. The new growth started to produce roots, but we’re still not out of the woods yet.

My on;y Zygopetalum is not dead! that’s enough on its own, but there are also new growths on the way and quite some good roots. Some of the older leaves are yellowing though, not sure if this is worrying yet.

The Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi keiki is alive too, no new leaf but at least its root is still good. This keiki was removed sooner than normal, watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLrsskHxnAc&t=1s

Speaking about keikis, my Sedirea japnoica suffocated by 4 keikis is looking a bit better! not the best looking one, but it looks more hydrated! watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGu_KlbYWHE

The Epidendrum Red Star keiki is growing nicely but slowly, the mother orchid had no energy left so the keiki must continue her existence, so far so good!

My Catasetums do not wish to go dormant, some are starting new growth already, but one has spikes at least!

The Masdevallia is still recovering and it will take a while until she starts looking normal, but new growths and roots are being produced, watch the video on it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xWHER_ngjA&t=2s

The crown rot Phalaenopsis is recovering great, its keiki is already big and producing a spike! Here is the crown rot treatment video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCZXr2HgRBM&t=20s

2 orchids we almost never see are the Encyclia prismatocarpum and brassavolae, they never did bad but they never flowered either, I will recheck the care sheet for them.
