Orchids in bloom – June 2015
So here is a new video series that will be uploaded at the end of each month and this is Orchids in Bloom. So here are my orchids in bloom, well some of them, for June 2015:
1. Encyclia cordigera, a wonderful orchid species that smells like a mix of chocolate and flowers, as fragrance is a personal thing, this can be debatable. It’s up to you to discover it for yourself. Visit the ID Sheet here http://orchidnature.com/orchid-identification-encyclia-cordigera/
2. Phalaenopsis bellina, a must have species Phalaenopsis that has a wonderful exotic fruit fragrance. Though lacking big, showy flowers, it certainly makes up for it with its scent, glossy foliage and electric colors. 3. Maxillaria rufescens, another fragrant orchid species worth having, easy to bloom and keep, but beware of new grwth rot. the fragrance reminds of vanilla and the tiny flowers are super cute. Visit the ID Sheet here http://orchidnature.com/orchid-identification-maxillaria-rufescens/
4. Oncidium Sharry Baby Tricolor, a twist from the usual Sweet fragrant cultivar. it still smells like vanilla chocolate but has the added bonus of more color variety. Visit the ID Sheet here http://orchidnature.com/orchid-identification-oncidium-sharry-baby/
5. Vanda Pachara Delight Pink, a prolific bloomer with a wonderful pink magenta color. It lacks fragrance, but makes up for it in showiness. Visit the ID Sheet here http://orchidnature.com/orchid-identification-vanda-pachara-delight-no-2/
6. Psychopsis Mariposa, the eternal bloomer. The flowers are out of this world, it is an easy orchid to grow so don;t let this one get away. It has no fragrance, but the way he looks like, who cares? Visit the ID Sheet here http://orchidnature.com/orchid-identification-psychopsis-mariposa/
