Orchids in bloom – September 2017

Today we take a look at the orchids that were in bloom in the past month, see if there is anything that catches your eye 😉

In order of appearance, the orchids are:

1. Dendrobium bigibbum compactum hybrid, a relatively new orchid that proved to be such a hardy one!

2. Oncostele (Colmanara) Wildcat Bobcat, I need to make a different tag 😛 lovely dark red flowers and vigorous orchid

3. Brassia Mivada, a primary hybrid actually with spidery golden yellow flowers, one of my favs!

4. Oncidopsis Bartley Schwarz, an easy to care for, popular intergeneric with a nice sweet scent!

5. Coelogyne usitana, a first time bloomer for me, purchased her as a seedling. More info here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zP9GRCnihSU&t=131s

6. Gastrochilus obliquus, a very recent purchase, completely by mistake. More info here http://www.orchidspecies.com/gastobliquus.htm

7. Bc. Saint Andre, definitely one of my favorites. Big flowers, wonderful fragrance during night time!

8. Phalaenopsis Karen Annie, a hybrid between phalaenopsis hieroglyphica x mariae, not violacea 😛

9. Phalaenopsis Tying Shin Fly Eagle, a wonderful orchid that always blooms a bit different and has a wonderful sweet fragrance

10. Phalaenopsis bellina, one of the most popular summer species, amazing fragrance!
