This is a species Phalaenopsis which produces gorgeous, tiny dark red blooms with a waxy texture. Unlike the complex hybrids, the season for flowering is the warm summer.
The flower is very tiny but opens flat and the dark sepals and petals make a great contrast with the white lip. There is no fragrance on mine sadly, but the thought of multiple spikes with blooms is really exciting!
