Phalaenopsis Orchid spike is drying – what to do?
Here is a question I get quite often from my viewers who are new to the orchid hobby. What happens if a flower spike yellows and dries?
▼▼▼More info bellow!▼▼▼
Well first of all there is probably nothing wrong with your orchid, the flower spikes, stems or stalks, however you want to call them, have a limited life span, compared to the orchid. They will eventually die off.
But not to worry, the orchid itself will go on, it will grow new roots and leaves and, with good care, in the next season (usually autumn or winter) it will produce a brand new flower spike from between the leaves.
If your flower spike is dry all the way down, you are safe to cut it. It will never rebloom again, nor will it create branches.
