Phalaenopsis Orchids will rebloom from the same spike – True or false?
Since Phalaenopsis are the most common orchids we can buy, there are a lot of videos and articles out there regarding growing them. However, some things are just not debated enough, or are unclear.
One of the things we all think when we grow our Phalaenopsis is that we can make it rebloom from the same spike simply by leaving the spike alone, or just by cutting it above a node. However the reality is that this doesn’t happen all the time, it doesn’t even happen very often. It is up to the orchid to decide if she wants to rebloom or not, so it’s not a guaranteed recipe.
I would say it’s a 50/50 chance to get a rebloom from the same spike, however it’s always fun to experiment, just don’t expect 100% rebloom results 😉
