So here is an update on my Pleione orchids. As you can see, things look slightly strange. These orchids are supposed to lose leaves, but this shouldn’t really happen this early in the season.
In the past 2 weeks this orchid has started to lose leaves at a fast pace. Coincidentally, this is when the heat wave started. The loss of leaves can be attributed either to the heat, either to a confusion regarding seasons.
Pseudobulbs on the other hand look ok, no signs of rotting or shriveling. For this reason I am thinking this might actually be an early dormancy. I am not sure what to do since this is my first season growing these orchids, but the orchid will tell me and I will keep you updated.
