Repotting Mule Ear Oncidium Orchid – What to do with a damaged rhizome

Today we are working with a Mule Ear Oncidium orchid once again! But this little orchid has an issue which we need to address 🙂

The Mule Ear Oncidiums, now classified as Trichocentrum, is an interesting orchid with large, robust leaves and very tiny pseudobulbs! It reminds me of Psychopsis orchids https://youtu.be/pDhKPHLKyg0
Keeping segments of healthy rhizome, even without pseudobulbs, is very helpful for new growths, if they have roots! Here is an interesting case of a Cattleya with a bare rhizome and a forming new growth https://youtu.be/Zv_0fRBw2jU
