Today we take a look at an Orchid hybrid we don’t see every day in stores, this is the big lip Phalaenopsis!

This a complex hybrid Phalaenopsis orchid, called Phalaenopsis Younghome Princess ‘Big Lip’ (Leopard Prince x Fuller’s E-Plus). What makes it special is the lip size and shape!
The big lips hybrids display a form of peloria, but in this case we don’t have petals trying to look like lips, but rather the lip trying to take the shape of the petals by increased size. There are various patterns and shapes within this new mutation, all very appealing and the good mews is they are more available to the public than a few years ago!
