Strange marks on Phalaenopsis Orchid – possible fungal infection
Today we take a look at a Phalaenopsis orchid I recently purchased, as some strange marks appeared on the leaves. I suspect it is a fungal infection, so these are the measures I am taking.

I am suspecting a fungal infection as I see a resemblance of the marks with the ones presented in this article http://oregonorchidsociety.org/cultivation/orchid-pests-disease/fungal-problems
I have also let water drops on the leaves, which might have aggravated some previous wounds on the orchid.
I decided to cut the affected portion and seal the wound with cinnamon powder to help dry the it faster. Other than that the orchid looks normal and is getting ready to flower 😀
I don;t believe it is a virus at work here, they don’t show signs over night. Here is my video on virused orchids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17msMReSMDQ
