The orchids from my latest haul are in need of repotting, so today we are starting with the Vandas since they are harder to water in their pots. The best they’ve done for me is bare rooted, so we will unpot them and place them into baskets.

The two Vandas I ordered came potted into standard bark medium and I could already tell they were not the happiest. Aerial roots look good, but potted roots have seen better days. My recent haul can be viewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NughW6R-RrU
I chose 2 plastic baskets, even though wooden ones would look prettier. We will do with what we have 🙂 Unpotting them is done as with any orchid, I removed all the bark attached to the roots and sprayed hydrogen peroxide 3% on the root system.
I will keep them along with my other Vandas in my southern window, they will receive watering once a day for the most part and we will see how they do 🙂
